Unhappy no jamboree for me

Memorial day weekend, lake norman. Starboard motor locked up. After inspection, #7 cylinder exhaust valve broke off at stem. Determined the cause to be water on the valve. Pressure tested my sport tube headers and found #7 leaking water at the flange weld and o2 sensor. Inconel valves next time.

Port motor runs great (32hours) and put it in the classifieds to fund my stock 330 hp repower prior to selling. Going to a single engine and looking at the heat. The injured motor will be rebuilt and serve as my spare motor. Cheers....Casey

Cant do that right now and I may have to wait until you have leftover 2008 models. After looking at my engine, it looks like the head took all the damage and is easily repairable. (I wasnt even on plane when it happened) It looks like it will be worth more (trade in) with the current power.

When I do pull the trigger on another boat, I'm sure it will be with you guys.

I'm thinking about driving up anyway and just renting a runabout for the wknd. Casey

Just go without a boat. That's what I did last year and had a great time. Think of all the money you'll save. Probably enough to fix your boat.

Casey,
Sorry to hear about your motor! Been there, done that myself.
Are you back in the USA, I hope ? My mechanics have been asking about you .............you are going to miss the bikini contest. Can't get that in Bagdad! From what I've seen of the women there (some of them have better moustaches than me), you probably don't want to.
Best regards,
Steve

I still plan on coming up if my next contract doesnt get in the way. Thats why I cant reserve anything. The last time, alligator 2 still had cabins and were renting on the off season rate, so I may luck out.

cheers.....Casey
