Default 625 Ilmor in a Heat

Toying with engine upgrades for an '06 Heat. Looking at several options, one being the 625 Ilmor. Spoke with a person at Nordic who said it should fit without modding the seat etc, but everything I have read indicates the Ilmor is about 4.5 inches longer than the 496 HO, which is nearly touching the back of the seat. Anyone have experience rigging one of these. Thanks

Im almost certain there is a 710 in a heat that powerboat tested a while back. I believe they took the front carbon off and mounted the fuse panel to the rear portion of the seat for a bit more clearance

Correct ID

Southocg has one.

After CB-BLR went through and methodically set it it up - it ran 90.

Yes, I have found a few threads about the 710 in a heat. Nordic says they have set up a few heats with the Ilmors. He was not sure what year the boats were, but it is notable because in '08 Nordic moved the rear seat forward 2". He said this was not done to make more room under the hatch, but as part of a new (no wood) lay up process. Ultimately I guess it would not be that difficult to move the seat forward an inch or two if needed. Thanks for the input.
