Well....we finally got some decent weather here in the great North West.

Here is my first run of the season: 103.8 on my Digital GPS!

Thank-you Dustin Whipple!

Man sometimes living @ lower latitude doesn't help. It's cold as s**t in SLC this spring, but thanks for burning the CO2 to help warm things up!
Great #'s!! That's haulin mail!
Hope to sell soon (Test drive for 1 last burn) then maybe get into a cat in the next year or so so I can see the century mark.

That's starting the season off with a bang.
Congratulations, Chris.

Wow, very impressive. Still ice on the lake, cannot wait to try the new boat.

Have a great season

Not going to Desert Storm this year...my winter was financially brutal...things are going great again...but I am in financial recovery mode.

The 103.8 mph speed was done with:

SCX upper...SC lower
Prop shaft 3" below the bottom
1.35 gears
Merc Lab 30
6150 rpm
Calculated slip of about 18%
Large (89 pump gas friendly) pulley on the supercharger

The boat was rock solid...I could let go of the wheel at top speed...conditions were ideal...62 deg...6"-1 ft chop on the lake.

My boat (open bow) seems to like slip in the high teen's to handle well on the top end.

With further prop testing...I think I can probably do a couple of mph better.

I will be trying a Merc Lab 31 as well as some offerings from Hering.

For inner-tubing props...I will be testing P5x's in about the 27 pitch range... along with a 26 Maximus.

Chris

nice run chris. I plan to hit the water the weekend for some more testing. I'm sure that I 'm looking at a 1"drive spacer soon. Don't you have one laying arroud??? My boat is 1 1/2" higger in the water with the new motor. I must have cut 300 to 400 pounds out of her.

Braydon,

I will look and see if I have a 1" spacer...I have started to organize my garage...and put things in boxes...so I now can't find anything
From looking at my test tables...I think your setup will end up something like this:

600-650 horsepower

1" spacer
28 Bravo
5200-5400 rpm
80-82 mph

or

1" spacer
Merc Lab 30
5300-5500 rpm
82-84 mph

These are the speeds I was reaching with that amount of horsepower.

They are also the same aproximate speeds...and props...that Ned (05R1)...reaches with his boat...with aproximately the same horsepower (600-650 hp)

I'm still running in the low 20% range in slip. The last run was with my 26p p5x at 5750 and 75mph.
