I have a 600 with 225 hours. The motor has been great. I am on my second drive. I have just installed a new rebuilt drive by Max Machine Worx with a new drive oil cooler. Basically, drilled the drive upper and circulates the drive oil through a heat exchanger by a 12v pump. 11 hours on Amsoil and it is still translucent. I will change the fluid now and I am hoping to double the life of the drive by using the cooler. I love the motor with the Whipple upgrade. Runs into the mid 90's, pulls strong (maybe too strong?) ?? One negative is that you need to be running towards a gas station when underway.. Have fun!

I am feeling pretty good about the durability of the 600. Sounds like a non-issue.
I do want to make sure I get the tabs and will most likely choose to go with Chris's suggestion on the Dana 900's if I pull the trigger on this boat.
Will let you know what we decide to do.
Is it the Heat in Utah?

Nice I know the boat very well, I really like it! If you want I can hook you up with Brett he is the guy selling it. I bought my Nordic from him. He is a great guy to work with and will take care of you. In fact I was standing next to it last week.

Funny thing is I have a good freind with a Rage and I have been begging him to buy that Heat, trying to buy a house though... It is a very clean graphics package.

Yes...it is...

BUT

You can only get the 700 with either a NXT or #6 drive.

One was built near me with a 700/NXT package...and it doesnt handle very well.

Chris

P.S. My open bow heat did 80-82 with the stock 600 package, a one inch spacer, and a stock Bravo 28 or a 27 P5x

With a Whipple stage III it did 91-93 with a .5 spacer, and the same props.

It currently does 103-105
