first of all how much power do you have? And what gears do you run in the drive? I run a 26 p5x on a 572 and spin it to 5700. With my old 496 Whipple motor I spin to 5400. I have. 1.50 In The drive. With that been said I have ran and 26, 28,30 bravos 1 I feel and still like my p5x the best for all around prop. It is also the fastest on my boat. They hook up like glue! That said you really need to treat the drive right and take it easy out of the hole. The Nordic heats really like these props. Just make sure that you get the right one. You will love it!

Yes I would have to agree that you right on track Try performance boats and river Dave's place I think I remember seeing one on one of the two forums You will really like the way the p5x performs on the heat. My Whipple motor made some where around the 600+ hp and Im not sure where I'm at with the 572???? I did get 5mph faster with the 572 over the Whipple 496. Do you run any drive spacers??? I run a 1" spacer in mine. Things change a lot with the attitude of the boat between the two motors. The 572 has less weight good luck with finding one I'm sure that you will love it
