Default Fuel filters in 28 heat gas tanks?

I have some fuel issues (already replaced all filters etc) on my 28 CB Heat / 496HO
(see other posting general Q & A)

So started looking at the fuel tanks
Fuel outlets are on the TOP of the tanks???
(Always thought outlets should be on the bottom side…)

I already removed the 90° elbow fitting , no filters inside only some sort of siphon valve
(only fuel out not inwards)

Are there any hidden fuel filters in the (Imco) fuel tanks and/or in the IMCO fuel switch?

not sure how to check it but have you considered the fuel pump being the culprit?
Last winter when my heat with 525 was in for winter service, my mechanic rebuilt or replaced my fuel pump. He said that the oil in the pump was never replaced (True) and that there was gas in the oil of the pump. I don't recall the cost to do this. It is just a suggestion and something that is overlooked during maintenance.

Call the nordic factory and tell them the year you have. If it has IMCO tanks the pickup tubes will usually have metal mesh screen on the ends (bottom of tank). Every marine tank I've ever seen draws fuel from the top. Nothing unusual about that really. You wouldn't want fuel pissing out everywhere if a fitting were to leak/break.
