Finally got up to the shack here at LOTO to open the house for the season.
I left my Heat on the lift for the winter.
Uncovered the boat. I was surprised at how clean she remained since I washed and waxed her up before covering last October.
Almost perfect. A quick 15 minute wipe down and she looked fresh and tight.
Flipped the #1 battery on to raise the hatch, but battery was dead.
Flpped to #2, all good.
Checked all fluids before firing her up. All good.
Turned the key, started on the first crank -- as she always does.
Stock, original 496HO with about 640 hours.
Took her for a spin. There's nothing quite like the first ride of the season in my Heat. Spiritual in a way.
Ran her over to a marina just around the corner, and made an appointment for an engine and outdrive oil change, and a raw water impellar.
Got that done yesterday. Charged battery #1, and she's ready to go.
Beginning my 15th season with the old girl -- and she still treats me right, and gets looks and thumbs-up nearly everywhere I go.
She's a keeper.
Enjoy the season, my Nordic brothers and sisters. Be safe. See you 'round the way.
