Brad, funny story !!! The conservation officer up at N/P, and the only officer with the deciple gun, is a very good personal friend of mine. Had him, his son and wife out on the lake for a 90 mph blast. Took a bunch of pics of him, in his uniform "gun belt and all", and his family while we were running. He's a "good friend" to the members of the Chicago Powerboat Club. He will be leinient toward any of our club members that are atleast trying to comply with the deciple #'s.
Last year I asked him to give a pass to a few special friends of mine that were extremely loud, and he told me what to tell them to say if he stops them. Well, he did stop them, they said what I told them to say, and Bill gave them a pass.
Great guy, ya can't ask for anymore than that.

I agree that all of the water patrol people at NP are very nice. The 4 guys inspecting my boat were more interested in seeing the boat and asking questions. Very professional and they made it quick and painless.
The only downside was the old hag in the parking lot that thought I was getting a ticket for noise. She was very disapointed when I kindly informed her that I was legal in all cases

The north point DNR guys even though they are strict...they are cool to most people. Hell many years back when we were into jetski's we had our's all modded up and WAY loud....annoying loud! Anyway they came by us when we came in and asked why so loud...we explained the mod's etc and they were kinda even impressed at what could be done to them. They did check us all out for safety etc and we passed with flying colors. They gave us a sticker to place on the boat so we wouldn't be bothered again by DNR for safety and on they went. I'd say 90% of the time if you are cool with them they will be just as cool with you....if you are being an idiot and then showing attitude because you feel they are bothering you.....well i'm sure they WILL find something to bother you about!

CPC is still having a run at Northpoint but it will be a fun run with the dealers. Scott confirmed that he is coming and it sounds like Mark Miller will be coming too. So please come and join us.
Northpoint and Waukegan have made it very difficult to have a dealer demo like we would like to have. We are keeping the idea alive and will try it in the future where the marinas will work with us
