Well, if you remember the old bikes you'll remember that they had chain oilers. The chain oiler(most people closed them and replaced the drive chain more often-I preferred to oil the chain and replace it less often) on mine made short work of a really nice leather jacket she had. So, the Sportster was not her favorite bike. And the vibration was always an issue on the older Sportsters.
I sold the Sportster and bought a Suzuki GS1000E, which is now considered to be a superbike. It was a great bike but every time I got on it I was fearless and bulletproof. After closing up the bar one night and seeing how fast it would really go ( I looked down when I went into 5th gear and I was at 140) I decided to not ride it again.

Dave, my first bike was a 350 Honda and I dam near killed myself with it. I guess I'm lucky that I couldn't afford anything more than that because I just had to see how fast things could go.
