North Point Marina/Winthrop Harbor
I know with the weather it is a bit early to start asking about marinas...
This weekend in our travels the wife and I visited North Point Marina. They appear to have a beautiful setup.
I am thinking of launching out of there next season. So I don't look like the new kid on the block, what is the ramp procedure there? It looks like you stage on the south side of the launching area, there are 8 lanes, and parking is north of the ramp. Is there area to tie up so I can get back to my truck so I can park it? I occasionally have to launch, recover, and drive the truck. So in order to avoid delays it is nice to have a place to tie up out of the way but still rapidly accessable.
In viewing their site, launching is free...is parking free?
Are there beach areas available to enjoy with the boat?

It is a nice ramp. The 4 lanes on the South end are for launch. The 4 lanes on the North are for retreive. Launch and parking is free. Most people leave the boat at that dock at the ramp. If you are going to be a long time before returning there is a long dock on the North breakwall by the ramps. You can tie up there.
Beaches with the boat is tough unless it is very calm. There are beach areas North and South of Marina but I don't think you can bring your boat upto the shore. You would have to anchor out and come in.
There is a area North of Kenosha and one South of Racine that alot of people drop anchor at and float.

Thanks for the information, I had a feeling it would be tough with the beach and a boat. It is good to know there is space to leave the boat and park the truck/get the truck.
