Default Lake Michigan water levels???

So with all of snow and rain this year, how is the water level out on the lake. Anyone know? I would love to see the water level go up to the board walk height at East Chicago Marina for the poker run.

That would be cool to see it up that high to the boardwalk. I remember tying up to the wall there last summer and along the wall it was pretty shallow.

I mainly would like to see it rise so some of the ramps would be accessible for the bigger boats since some were not last year.

I looked up NOAA site regarding Great Lakes water levels, and they still seem to be at nearly an all-time low. They've got to come back a bit though, considering the amount of precip we had this winter.

Lake Michigan has come up 3" in the last month, however it is still 6" below last year.
We are not at record low levels, but we are getting close. The lake is 9" above where it was in 1964.
The last time it was this low, it filled back up by having about 10 years of very harsh winters. I remember when I was a kid having snowdrifts to the rooflines every winter and the lake would be mostly frooze over in the dead of winter.

Last December Lake Michigan & Huron was 1" above all time recorded lows. It's now 9" above all time low, so it is rising at it always does in the winter and spring, but a mentioned above it will take several harsh winters to bring it back up.

That's what happens when you get when you get your "Hooked on Phonics" and "Gardening" books mixed up.

You and me both. Michigan City launches were a pain in the butt last year trying to get the boat on and off the trailer. Nothing like having to back up and slam on the breaks several times until the boat starts floating.
