Boats over 30' are rare in the lower river. It is just too shallow. Your Fountain will be dragging the bottom most of the time. I water ski the lower river and there times of the year where the river is only 4-6' deep in the middle. Go launch at Benn Watts Marina with that 42. That is where all the big boys launch. The dam is a real pain if you do not time your arrivals. I have waited hours many times.

Yeah, Your right...I was looking for a quite place to launch out of but Watts will do just fine.
