When I retired a while back and decided to do some traveling, I purchased a new 2003 Ford Excursion with the 7.3 liter diesel engine and the 44 gallon fuel tank.
Happy to say that I now have 279,000 miles on it and it has run fine over those many years and through many trips.
Towing boats up and down 95 to and from boat shows and towing our motorcycles all over from Daytona to Strugis, never a hiccup.
Always used synthetic oil in everything from engine to 4X4 to trans.
Treat it the same way as my race boats, use it and then go over everything and check and double check and make sure it will be ready to go next time.
I actually bought it in the Fall of 2002, so it will be 20 years old next Fall.
