Going to St Pete for the Worlds?
Not too many hotels in the area. This one is nice and should be either on or very close to the race course.
http://www.beachhousesuites.com/ Rooms are still available.
The Don is already sold out for the weekend.

Very strange about rooms being booked on Gulf side already when most I talked to thought it would be bay side.
In stocks and bonds that would be called illegal insider trading.
I just cancelled my St Pete reservations.
super fan
I know..Blame it on the manatees

"I know..Blame it on the manatees"
Its good feeding there....we had a good time racing there in 2001 and 2003
Good luck to all the teams in St. Pete and be safe....

Never been to the races in St. Pete. So where would you book a room to be near the wet pits or the dry pits? I see several hotels on the map. Would the races be between the Don and the Travelodge? Thanks

Re: Going to St Pete for the Worlds?
The course isn't finalized yet, but since they couldn't get close enough to the pier, they are opting for the gulf side. I'm sure the pier is nice to watch from but I'd rather see an open water race anyhow.
The Vinoy is the hotel hotel, dry pits and the wet pits marina are right across the street. Awesome location. I looked around while in the area a few weeks ago. There's plenty of houses and condos to rent on the gulf beach but not hotels. The Don is nice but booked for the weekend, and they didn't even know about a race, this is their busy season. However, the Suites place looks nice and is only a half mile away from the Don.
I can't promise anything regarding the racecourse location, just trying to give you folks a head up. From what I know, it's not set in stone yet.
The schedule is: 11/15 to 11/20
Wed - Testing and time trials for pole position
Thurs - races - 12 - 2 - 3:30
Fri - Off
Sat - Testing and Time trials for pole position
Sun - Races - 12 - 2 - 3:30
