This was a great event! Tons of OPA, Pro Series and AMF boats. Television coverage and great weather. From the talk in the meetings and pits it is only going to get better. Thanks to all who made it happen and the fans that came through the pits. Can't wait for St Clair.

This poor girl was so distraught over seeing Wicked come up on the beach.

I hope to see this boat race again. Too bad, they had Class 1 in the bag.

wow, i heard their call to race control and saw them heading for the beach. glad no one was hurt. in retrospect would it have been better to let it sink and retrieve it through regular salvage means (bag it than tow it in to be craned) I remember when the black Pantera went down in Key West a few years ago. I think it was back on the trailer by about six. I only ask this question for future reference. Things happen pretty fast out there and Dean and I came to the conclusion we probably would have done the same thing but after the fact im not so sure. Tough call there, glad they got out OK.

That sux!!!! I dont know the water there, and think if they would have got it retieved prior to the tide coming in it may have just needed glass work.

If it sinks, that stupid old Maritime law comes into effect about salvage rights.

Well it was good to see first responders show so quick. I mean the Coast Guard had a boat right away and Trooper 4 (medivac helicopter) was overhead within minutes. Still sucks but I am glad there were no injuries.

It was terrible to see the boat so trashed and basically just at the mercy of the waves. The city people were very little help, other than trying to find out who to send a bill too . Two people that should be hailed in this incident are Ray Gennick (sp) and his teammate for avoiding a horrendous collision with Jay and Stan, they did some pretty fancy driving and avoided a possibly fatal crash into the side of Wicked when they hooked towards the beach. And Kevin Cooper from AMF/Geico who came down and made a bunch of phone calls trying to get some help for Jay, nice move Kevin, good to meet you. I know Jay will bounce back from this and it's great nobody got hurt and there wasn't a fuel/oil huge money enviro disaster to deal with.
