No Entry Fee And $25,000.00 Prize Purse!
August 16th-19th, 2007-POPRA goes on a road trip to Orange Beach, AL. Using the same model as we did in the 2006 US Nationals POPRA and OSS hit Alabama full force. Any offshore race team that meets the specification of either organization is welcome to take part in this joint venture. We are opening the door to all racers! If you have an open cockpit race boat or even a canopy boat we have a race class specifically for you. On Saturday, August 18th, POPRA will be racing class-6 through Class-1, PX and PT with no entry fee. Yes, you read this right--NO ENTRY FEE! Oh and did I mention as a bonus, we will have a total of $25,000.00 in a prize purse. Yes, $25,000 dollars! So dust off those F1 boats and race Class-5 and for you Super Vee guy’s Class-1 is calling you. For more information please contact Kevin Cooper at [email protected].
United we race.

Yes, but rule #4 states that one live fish must be caught and weight at the end of the race. The fish will undergo tech inspection after being weighted.
And Rule #5 for every dead fish there will be a one min penalty.
The bottom line is we know to be safe and have fun at the LIVE Bait bar.

I guess it would be like the OPA rulebook right??
"At the race site, OPA will pay out half of the prize purse. To receive the other half
of the prize purse, boats must attend at least four OPA races in 2007. If
a team doesn’t race in four OPA events, the second half of the
prize money will go towards the yearend high points fund."
"11.The purse will be divided evenly between all classes with at least five participants. The
breakdown will be as follows within each class.
1st
Place – 50%
2nd
Place 30%
3rd
Place – 20%"
