Point Pleasant- loved the beach/boardwalk/history/water. Didnt care for the long travel to the crane and out the channel but it was well worth it.
Patchogue- Everything was set up great, pits etc. lots of spectators
St. clair- Everything in one spot great place to put on a show
Chattanooga-Great place, great show but a long drive down for us.
Where ever OPA is OCTANE will follow..............

Maybe the question should be what is the best water to race in as far as racers go?
1. Cleveland , OH would be my favorite. Flat on the inside and rough after you leave the harbor.
2. Corpus Christi , TX - ditto
3. Daytona Beach , FL. Super huge if they're rolling.

I don't understand why 6 of the 8 votes in so far are for River and Lake Races, Unlimited Hydro could race any of the venues and kick our asses. a Bass boat could have beat the Class 5 and 6 boats most of the season. Im not saying theirs anything wrong with these sites but as a favorite. maybe its just me.
Its not just you...ocean races is what offshore is all about. The bay, river and lake races are fun too,but nothing beats an ocean race.I also agree that Ocean City,MD is the best site;Point Pleasant,NJ is good too,and Atlantic City,NJ has alot of potential. The constantly changing ocean conditions add another variable and help to level the playing field.

I liked Sarasota when they used to run under the bridge and out the inlet. Seeing acouple hundred people on the bridges when the baots ran under with the monster roost soaking everyone on the bridge was awesome and then out into the Gulf.
I also like the time they ran in Cocoa Beach Florida out of Cape Canaveral. Watching the race from the Cocoa Beach Peir was pretty awesome and it was pretty rough..

My Vote goes to Point Pleasant. I Would Like to see more Ocean Races, But After seeing some other Races this year I understand its pretty cool for the fans to Stand on either shore of say a river and watch the action. They can see the whole course and watch the front as well as the back stretch. Ocean City was A hell of a site as well.

yea . . . some people cant take a joke. i mean all we did was steal their chicks and give them a lawn job with a golf cart . . . . i thought it was ok to drive them things on the grass WTF. . . . hows yer head do'in bro?
Oh as far as favorite sites, man thats a tough one. for the actually course i would have to say Key West or Destin because you have to still navigate them a bit (especially KW). In all honesty though we have had one great race site after the last with OPA an i sat here trying to pick a fave but couldnt. Top of the list is gonna hafta be sites like Patchouge, St. Clair and Chatanooga (great crowds!) Keep up the great work Smitty an crew.
