Default RUM RUN 2008 ( you missed it!)

Well for many if you did't know this past weekend July 18-20th was the 97th annual rum run and was a blast , seeing how NOBODY wanted to post about it I thought I would being how we are trying to build the sport and how are you supposed to do that if you dont even enlighten other folks on how it went .But enough about that (different subject) as you know this past event was great Thanks to Tom Brunner , Kevin Cooper , Troy Juve , and New appointed Race Control Chad Christian and everyone else that helped out ! The weekend was JAM packed with tons of stuff to do from the starting street fair were the city shut down a good stretch of downtown Long beach , Pine street were the awsome street fair was setup with race teams , vendors , live music and overall great morale . Friday as the other teams got into town and all settled in with tech going on and everyone saying hi! Led to a night at SpringBok bar and grille for the popra party were the owner was gracious in letting everyone have a rockin good time. Saturday feel in with the rest of tech and testing and not to mention of course the Catalina Ski race wich was also an awsome event . Sunday came race day with an 18 boat start wich was 4 MORE boats then last year was a adrenaline pumping start that was close and personal while running in and out of the first turn only to get out to open water just outside Queens gate where it became quite lumpy with quit a swell . A very exciting race that Led to Team CRC coming in top dawg at a blistering 37 minutes ( thats haulin ) then everyone coming in closely after that . With more boats FINISHING than not the weekend rounded up with a fun awards banquet with great trophies and a fun time .

And again thanks to all mentioned above and those I failed too (sorry) . The weekend was great.

But again thanks and hope to see all next year and at are next race in Pittsburg CA the first weekend of Septmember

P.S. RAGAMUFFIN 32 skater is Thadues Findley's boat Not Ricky Ford's haha

If you want to promote a boat race the first place I would start is on here where the boaters read about events. I didnt know there was a race there this weekend.
Sounded like a great time. Will someone post the boats that ran and possably results? I am a fan and like to here about the teams that ran. Thanks for the up date John

First things first this is Scott Brunner son of Tom Brunner , Jhon Brunner was attending another race for oss but anyway I know it seems that no one put anything about the race being this weekend , I guess I rather assumed that by word of mouth that it was out there and that the last three years its been after the catalina ski race wick evryone seems to know when that is. Also if interested about who race and results click the link I provided for the POPRA website www.pacificoffshore.com or if for some reason of dosent work its cause I've posted it of my phone since I'm on the go! Thanks
