Header Problem

Full Throttle, my neighbor up the street just cracked his CMI's headers too. They are back at CMI to be fixed. I talked to a few guys that raced F1 and they said the CMI's will crack and leak and it's a known fact that this happens. You might want to keep an extra set around so summer boating is not interupted.

What year headers? CMI does not warranty them on race boats, but do on pleasure boats. Have your friend check.
If we can help, let me know.

Had 1/4 tank, 3-4 footers, intermittent chop, and just this short fat Italian. Windy as hell. Propeller likes to get the bow down, ass up. I'll check it out tomorrow. Everything seems fine with the engine. I'll post a pic of the header shortly. Will send both to CMI for repair. Ouch they were $$$$ !!

Hey Talon:
Was out Sunday with JROMY and his new PP w/twin 525's. 3-4 footers very, very windy. I really like the 5 blade. Had the nose down more and hit the waves without the bang feeling. Had full fuel, 3 people and hit 65 at 5000 rpm's. Jo called me yesterday and told me that I need to trim the drive out more than where I'm used to, so I'm going to play with that when I get better water. I hit 68 with just me and 1/4 tank at 5000 but ran out of flat water the way the wind was blowing on Saturday. I like the mid-range pull. Seems the engine is working less with a bit more speed. I don't think it's the real high end prop, but in the Sound it sure gives a nice ride.
Hope you get yours soon so that we can get a few boats together.
Ron
