owners of 28 with twins...lets talk

Hey, on my 28 with twin 454s and Bravos spinning 15x28 props what speeds should I be seeing? Motors don't want to turn more than about 41 to 4200 RPMS. The engines are almost the same config as the one in my Python and it dynoed at about 450hp.
Also, on the props it has a 26 stamped under the 15x28??? any idea what that is?

That should be the pitch of the prop.
I'm not too experienced with this stuff yet, but it seems like you'd need to be turning 4800-5000 RPM with those motors.
I'm running 24 pitch four blade stock bravo 1's on similar HP 502's, turns 4800-5000 RPM on the top end at about 70 MPH.
I'd try 24p props and see if you gain any RPM, or change your drive ratios for more RPM. I don't know $hit about drive ratios, I'd do a search.

I ran a 28 with twin 496ho's yesterday. Boat had a real high x-dimension. Had to run the tabs about 1/2 way down for her to come over and they were needed to keep it from pourpsoing under 40mph. 45 and up the boat habdled beautiful and crushed a few rollers when I gave it a lil poke.

Soon!! We were just up at Lake Murray for a week doing the family reunion thing. The lake is real pretty but kinda small. Almost called you but we were busy with the reunion most of the time. Hows your boat running?
BTW if anyone has any 24s I could try on my boat that would be great.

Boat is running great. I'm real happy with the boat. Got it out in some 4's last time and I was just blown away by the handling and how solid the boat felt. Yours has twin 450hp.........and mine has 460hp, but a little more weight hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.......... I still haven't toped it out yet
I'm running 27' Mirage three blade props and I was told that those were the perfect match for the apache. You'd really have to sweet talk me, but I might let you try them out. Most prop shops will let you borrow a set or two to try out before you purchase.
We are going to try and get a couple of OSO members together and do a little run on texoma during the 4th of july weekend. You should come.

Python I had a 99 28 with twin 502 415hp. I had 28's on it I could only turn about 4600-4700 with a reading of 76 on the speedo. The 28's might be a little big unless they are labbed.

You are correct. With twin Mecruiser 496 HO - 425 HP labbed Bravo 1 28 props turn right at 5100 RPM and push the 28' to 82-83 MPH on GPS. Stock 26 pitch 4 blade Bravo 1 bump the limiters light on fuel with the 496 HO and push it to right around 80 mph.
