I agree with Chris. You're headed the right direction. My boat likes a ton of trim too. Like 6.5 on the indicator (with 3 neutral) seems like they want that to carry the bow and get the prop up out of the water. I think that's what JO told me anyhow.

I think we're going to be in about the same place on the power and someone had suggested that I'd need a labbed 28 bravo to really get the best out of the boat.

79's still a heck of a lot better than 70 huh!?

I will be heading out in a few hrs.
I think my torque peak is too high in the rpm range.( maybe smaller cam) I just want to test and check as much as I can before pulling the mtr again and spending anymore money than nessary.
Funny how close these words are in spelling--- spend / speed

MSD ignition set up didn't change anything. 79 mph on gps. Did it several times with a little over half tank fuel, one passenger.
I'm OK with the speed just not happy with the pull / accelleration.
I'm going to look into cam swaps and lowering the rpm range of the peak torque and hp

79mph is pretty darn good.

Get your engine spec to RmBuilder and he'll pick the right cam for you...

79 sounds really good to me! How's the water at the ramp?
I just moved about 100ft to stay with it. Let me know if you go out next weekend. I'm waiting on a Revolution prop that has been back ordered by Merc for a month! I want to get it out before the ramps all close. The water is now down just over 10ft due to the drought....

hey Greg, I wanted to stop by ,but this testing thing keeps getting in the way.
I went by your place again a couple of weeks ago in a white jet boat and reved it up a bit but no luck.

I use Vans Tavern. I'm not sure if the ramp still has concrete or not. There was smooth sand on the ramp where the trailer stopped this Sunday. I think it should be good for another few feet.

Tom, I'll have to keep a look out for a white jet boat as well.
It's very quiet back here and if I hear anything that sounds good I am at the window! No way I was home. I believe Shady Grove is closed so it's Vans Tavern for me now as well.

I guess we should be greatful that we boat on a river up here. I've heard that they are not going to drop the TN river this winter because they are afraid that they won't be able to get it back up to full pool next summer.
