[QUOTE=SkinnyDan;2568575]My comfort zone was around 40 mph, higher than that, you aren't "cruising" the boat, you are "driving" it. /QUOTE]
That will get higher soon.
I thought the boat was crusing nicely at 50-60. And over 70 was driving it!

That sounds about right, there's a lot to learn. I got the boat out again Saturday and Sunday. I just looked at a map, I put about 150 miles on it over 3 days running around on Lake Erie and up the river to downtown Detroit and back. It's nice being out there learning the boat while traffic is still low from the cold weather.
On Sunday, I dropped anchor long enough to eat lunch and relax for a few minutes. It's hard to sit there and float when there's a low traffic, 4 mile long channel that starts 400' away I waved at the same cruiser as I went up and back one last time at about 6pm. They were probably shaking their heads watching me "waste" fuel blasting up and down the channel.
I've got a few gauge issues to work out (speedo pitot tube is bent, engine trim gauges aren't working) but beyond that the boat has been great. I'm getting used to the 3-man standup seating in the front.
