Pantera 24 SE 1995
Thinking of selling my 24 SE...can't really tell much about it, as I've yet to use it. Bought in March, had my mechanic go through the boat, spent several K on service, cleaning up minor issues, updating graphics, adding stereo, cleaning up wiring etc....had a family emergency in May/June unable to use it...returned late June...supposedly had a bad fuel pump, replaced, had an exhaust leak...still in the shop since early July, mechanic broke one of the exhaust riser studs....same story always ready by friday, saturday then sunday..then wait another week. Was on my way to get it this morning now told tomorrow....Summers almost over and to me this is just expense....In short, when theres no pleasure associated with something its easy to get soured. Anybody got an idea what that might bring.

15K??
Are you low-balling to try to get your hands on it?
I recently saw a 2005 24 SE in the classifieds here asking 50K. With big motor.
But still...
15K with minor issues, and all the upgrades sounds super cheap.
The 50K for the '05, I just couldn't see spending 50 large on a 24'.
Maybe I'm just a cheap date.

I see it this way... from my experience and wanting to enjoy my little free time available. Throw out the motor and buy a new 496.
You'll run low-mid 70s(respectable for 24ft), run all day, everyday.
So, that would set you back 12-15k installed.
Now you're at 30. And that's what i think.
You guys who wanna keep rebuilding and tooling around will think differently of course.
A nice MB 475hp CC SBC will run similar $.
And 50K for that 2005? not that far off. What you think it cost to build a new one? That would be a nice boat for 42-43.
I see it all the time on this site(sad to say), you spend little on what seems to be a good buy, and dump $ after $ to try to keep it right.
See 2 28 apaches in their own forum.
At this juncture(sp?) i'd prefer to just do it right the 1st time.
This sport / hobby cost $. No way around it.
