Thanks Ron,

I get pretty excited too.

Hey Griff now there is a heck of an idea, I better talk to Jo about it . That 525 of yours drink a little fuel?? I can't remember which on isn't on there then, maybe water pressure? Senior moment.

Von, actually its not too bad on fuel. Uses about 5 gallons more( about 25 total) than my 454 mag in the 40 mile round trip to the Anchor Inn.
I just wish the guage was a little more accurate. I ususally fill it up when it gets below a 1/4 tank. So far, the most I've put in is about 85 gallons.
My guages are set up a little different. I only have 5 across the bottom. the depth guage was added later and is mounted near the hatch switch. They are set up like this.

boost-tach-speedo-hour mtr
oil press-volts-fuel-water temp-water pressure

I hear ya Griff. On the first full tank of fuel this year I ran out of gas.

The gauge got just below a 1/4.....and I was done! All I needed was 5 more miles and I would have been home! I burned a hell of a lot of fuel that weekend, but it turned out I had a stuck needle in the port carb.

A rebuild of that carb has really toned down it's appetite, but it's not a thrifty machine by any means!

Looking at dropping in some low hour 502 MPI's in September. That should help the fuel consumption even more, have some warranty, start at the turn of the key, and pick up a few mph.

The boat is looking sweet. You are going to love the ride! What trailer is it going to ride on?
