Trying to figure out what prop to try. I am running twin 502's 570 horse. I ordered a set of 30's thru Duckey's Boats. Joey said it should be in the ballpark. Any ideas. I'm wondering what Jmemoli is trying. Sounds like a really neat boat he is building.

Props
Dru ,
I am starting out with a set of 28 " Bravo 1s' . With GPS in hand (a must ) , I will check out top speed and note engine RPM .
Next step, try a set of 30s' and again note top speed and RPM .
If throttle response is ok with the 30s' , and speed is same or slightly better , I will stay with them . If speed drops , and or throttle response is bad , I will stick with the 28s' .
To get 570 HP from your motors w/o blowers , I suspect the 570 hp will be @ 5500 to 5800 rpm . If so , your motor may favor
the 28 s' .
I eliminated the rev limiters , and my motors will run from 5200 to 5400 at WOT . My cams are similar to HP500 cams and are made by Comp Cams - This cam allows looser valve springs for increased valvetrain reliability .
Doller Offshore has a lot of props in stock (used and new ) . I believe they may also have an exchange program .
Good Luck - Hope to see you on the water !

Perfect props
Dru,
I am running a set of 28 Bravo 1 's on my 2002 PAntera ( twin 500
HP) . The 28 " props allow a top speed of 85 -86 in 1 footers .
Throttle response is excellent . I haven't tried any 30s' yet , but I feel they may hurt throttle response .
Besides , I had to add 100 lbs. in sand bags to the front of the boat - It is a good ballast for the rough stuff as the boat is ass
heavy with the twins - The ballast keeps the ride better in the rough , nasty water of the Barnegat Bay -
Have you finished your boat yet?
