Doug, we're on the Chesapeake 3 out of 4 weekends June-October if you head down this way shoot me a message. Great places to ride to.

We've been to Raystown with our old boat it's a nice lake, I think 28 miles long but it gets boring. Karl

5 mph loss sound's about rite from the 78 mph they got when testing , what i have seen on most boat's when they do a test run when the boat is brand new with very little fuel and no gear in the boat and of course the biggest thing is the Professional Race boat driver that will squeeze every last mph out of the boat that you and I won't be able to do with out many year's of racing experience .
at least you can still cruise in the sweet spot at around 55 to 60 mph and not be redlined .
on a side note adding a whipple charger to the 525 down the road is a option , you just have to be good on the throttle with that much power

good luck with the boat and have fun but also be careful out there .

Hi Karl,

How much RPM did you see with that 5 blade prop ? I never had a chance to run the boat with it.

Fuel capacity on the 28' SR model is 108 gallons. So you were just about full of fuel. My best was 78 MPH on GPS with a 4 blade Hydro but it had to much slip. I was running approxmately 30-40 gallons of fuel and by myself. 200 pounds extra on board is about 1 mph worth of speed.6.2 pounds per gallon of fuel. Also wind, sea conditions, air temperature and humidity, experience, etc. etc. will all come into play.

I will give you a call this week. Did you get the new logos I sent you ?

Here area few pics. of Karl new Pantera 28' SR.
