Unfortunately I don't have enough room between my strakes and the drive to mount them quite that low.
However, I just came across a video of my old Checkmate and it would appear the tabs would have no problem reaching the spray coming off the hull even if they're mounted higher..

I decided to just haul it out to LLano so I could get everything done in one place... Bob at FTM has been using them for years with no issues..
