Re: Hey Full Throttle 525
Ron, I agree - dump the fuel. My boat only has 75 gallons and believe me, half a tank makes a noticeable difference. Furthermore, I wouldn't be too worried about top end. Believe it or not, even though you were just cruising in that chop yesterday, I was having all I could do to run with you - I was simply in the air too much to get any real speed up. I can't even use half the power I have in those waves. Unless you're out there running next to a big Cigarette, there aren't too many boats that are going to hang with you even at 66mph on the Sound.

Ron -
My offer stands for you try my 26 Labbed Prop. Otherwise as everyone has stated, just get used to the boat and don't worry about top end yet. Once you learn to drive it well, then start tweeking.
These boats are not for any knucklehead, they are like Ferraris on the water. Take your time, play in all types of water conditions and have fun!

Hi Kirk,
I have actually ran a 26' pitch labbed 4 blade Bravo 1 on several 28' single powered by 500 EFIs and spun the prop at 5200 RPM and seen 72 - 73 MPH on gps.
With the 525 EFI it should spin 150-200 more rpm and run a few more MPH.
On the Carrabas 28' P5 race boat that is powered by a single 500 EFI and a full pleasure boat is actually spinning a 26' Bravo 1 labbed off of F1-71 at 5250 RPM. I tested the boat out in the Ocean last year with 3/4 tank of gas and by myself on board out in 2 footers in the Ocean.
The 28' "full pleasure" really needs 1-2 footers to get it really running. I have always said : I would rather have the handling over the top end any day. It seems like the 28s are winning every race in P5 class this year in rough water due to the handling and rough water ride.
I think if you are going to go with a labbed prop on the 28' powered by a single 525 EFI full pleasure that a 26' cut back to a 25' will do the trick with fuel and a few passengers on board.
Stay in touch !!

Re: Hey Full Throttle 525
Had the wife this day...breasts were bouncing around. She didn't want to go too fast. Will have to train her as I go.
Brian: Hope you didn't get hit too hard down there. Stay safe & dry
