Default Exhaust choices

Going to be replacing the stock merc manifold/riser on my 454 365mag.

What if any are you guys using?

I might change the cam, but don't want to go too wild.
Any recommendations? or warnings?

It's all personal- I like the etops or the new style that comes on the 525's. For a cast style I like the new Dana marine stuff.

If I'm going to drop coin on exhaust I want perf, reliability and looks.

A stainless lightning maybe be good for bang for the buck.

CMI satin E-Tops you do have to tighten the bolts every 25 hrs or so but maybe that is because I have Aluminum heads.

Ironman, can I use my existing tips w/ the etops?
Do you use a torque wrench to tighten them?

Kirk, Fred has hooked me up w/ part before.
I've already PM'd him, but don't want to bother him too much, and looking for other options.

E Tops are great... They do tend to lean out your EFI though...
I have Stainless Marine exhausts.
They are nice, and fit well. But not much cheaper than E tops...
SM Exhausts hold more water, thus keeping your engine room cooler...if that matters to you....

Thinking I'm leaning towards SM or Dana.
I don't want cracked headers to worry about.
I like the warranty of SM.
Etops are nice eye candy though.

Any know how any of these will affect exhaust sound?
Which will make it loudest? - not that thats what I want.

You really can't do wrong with any of them mentioned so far. If you haven't, you should talk to [email protected]. He will let you know straight up if his products will work for you in your boating environment.
