Re: Pantera Runs F2 in Deerfield
Hey guys,
We had a hard time getting up on plane at the start since the Hydromotive 4-blade props began to cavitate really bad due to the sea conditions.
Once up on plane we fell back approximately 250 - 300 feet from the F2 field. We had 18 boats on our start including Super V, P1, P2, and F2.
By the time we got to the first turn approximately 2 miles away we had passed the the AC - Delco Donzi, the Harwich Concrete Fountain, the Simmons Racing Phantom, and pulled up side by side with Audacity in the JBS racing Donzi. We were both side by side in the turn and the race was on from that point on for first place. On the outside leg We took a large wave at wide open speeds and upon re-entry had the Starboard motor begin to loose power. It turns out that the engine harness plug - in was the cause for this happening. We are going through the entire boat and we will be ready for the worlds.
I look forward to racing with a great group of F2 competitors at Key west.
F2-71 is very fast and handled the rough water conditions with ease.
Regards,
JO - Pantera
