Check out this thread...
Jo says he's had 500hp running in the low 80s.
I guess we'll just have to see.

My good friend, T-Mone on this board, owns this boat. The best we've seen with an honest 585hp at the propshaft is 84 on gps. The motor made just a tick over 600 on the dyno. This was done on Tampa Bay with a slight chop. We still need to try some different props and I'm confident there is more top end in it but the boat spends most of it's time on Long Island Sound so it's proped for good midrange power upon re-entry. So your probably right it probably will break 80. Hopefully we will take the boat to Throttle-Up in St. Petersburg in a few weeks for their spring prop testing day. We'll let you know how we do.

I wonder what the weight diff is on a sport and SE?
Or would it even make a differnce?

And how do you figure what the HP is at the prop? and only losing 20hp?

The propshaft hp come from the owners mouth. I think it made 618hp to be exact on the dyno, I'll call and ask him. How much power does a bravo drive take from the crankshaft hp? I always thought it was somewhere around 30.

I'm not sure about that number.
But Anthony told me he had the motor detuned to 585hp for reliability.

Hey guys just wanted to set everyone straight as to to exactly what I am seeing out of my 24. The engine was dynoed at 618 hp at 5800 rpm and was detuned to approx 585hp before it went into the boat to for reliaibility. This would be crankshaft hp. I am running a labbed 27 mirage plus and can consistantly run 81 to 82 on GPS in fresh water. These numbers are not inflated dyno numbers they are the real deal. 502 cubes with world products heads that have been ported by one of the best in the business. I could go on and on about the engine but it was done right. I to thought that i would get more speed out of the hull, and will try by testing props this spring. I will let you all know how this goes..
