The problem with that is you would have to go across the lake and if someone broke down it would be a long tow back to shore, by going around you could stay within a mile of shore in most cases. And besides the northern part of Lake Michigan is alot more beautiful then the southern end. If we take a weeks vacation that would only be alittle over a 100 miles a day, and if the weather was bad for a day we could hold up for a day and make up for it the next day. I do like the Idea of exploring Door Co.
