I Could go 6600 but I think I'm going to keep it around 6300.

Not allergic...just not wanting to rush this. End result is going to be fast, reliable & worth it. I've seen what rush jobs do. I'd rather do it right & not boat, then do it wrong and not boat.

By the way...we have to Nicorette up and running.

Guess you want to make another trip too M.B if you turn more than 5800.

You think too much like a merc tech. These arn't merc motors and not all V8's are the same. These motors can turn @ 7800 with the right valvetrain geometry. Everything has been port matched and is brand new, best of the best in parts. Basically, we have built a mini nascar motor (or 2) and as you know those guys spin a V8 at 9500+ for hours on end.

I guess I'll just have to run the boat and see how many times I will head back to MB.

This is a sample article on some of the meathod behind the madness.

I'll tell you what I run your boat and turn it 6600 and see so you can prove me wrong or are you scared?

My peak Tq is at 5400. So you'd prop it at 6600?

I don't think anything in the marine industry has a set rule of thumb. Not all power is built the same...Not sure if mine is better or worse than any others...it been built to take

I'm just scared of you running it...not that it can't handel it. I've got dyno sheets up to 6500. Does that count?
