I don't think anything in the marine industry has a set rule of thumb. Not all power is built the same...Not sure if mine is better or worse than any others...it been built to take

Contact BBlades or Throttle Up and discuss your prop situation. I make peak TQ (700) at 4,300-4,400 and Julie did not like that I am propped at 5,000 right now....she said I really needed to get the prop spinning at least 5,300-5,400 so I'm not running the boat that close to peak TQ and break something. You are running Bravos (for now) aren't you???

Go to www.HRPA.homestead.com/Rendezvous.html to view the slip assignments as they stand right this moment (Friday 11:30am). At the lower left-hand corner of the webpage, click on the Waterside Marina logo to view the assignments. If you've been snoozin' you might be loozin', or "Early birds get the worm", or......

Huge surge on registrations this week AGAIN. Got a stack of checks deposited this morning. Lots of local boats will be stuffing theirs away in the boatels and driving down after the run. A few wil only make the run itself, then have other commitments that evening with stand in replacements to draw their cards for them. There "possibly" is a couple more spots to squeeze in raftup style in the slips, but it's leaning towards tying up to the inner bulkhead for overnight. This assignment is based solely upon registration entry date, size/power requirements of the captain, and the scale of the marina chart provided to place boats. ALL subject to marina re-assignment if necessary since they're the experts. Once we're live, there may be more space than seen on paper, and more can be squeezed in???

Questions about the slips? Direct to [email protected]

BTW, we're closing in on 60 boats registered (as many keep asking) which is a great number, not too big, not too small, and 94% is HRPA membership. Pretty darned good for a run that had to quickly re-organize after our 7 year relationship with the Little Creek Regatta ended in March. Initially the goal was to not scrap it this year, but build a footprint for next year and beyond, and we couldn't be more pleased with how it's developed, and participation (though mostly HRPA, and that's okay). I'm thinking 60 might be a better cutoff than our original thought of 80 since we're better able to accomodate each boat better than encountering a diminishing return of quality with larger numbers. Venue, lunch stop, etc. play a big part in that obviously as well.

More specific information will be put out on here, the other site, and via email as the dust settles from the last two week surge.

Look forward to seeing those who have made it in thus far. I think you're gonna like it....
