Just when you think an event couldn't get any better!
We started this year off on Thursday Night with a kickoff Welcoming Party at Typhoon Performance Marine.
Friday the "new" day for the run was received very well apparently, after speaking with many particpants on the docks.
We had our big spread breakfast in the morning at our favorite spot "The Lobster Shanty of Toms River" There it was announced to everyone's surprise that we would be shooting photos from a helicopter during the run as well as have 1 of our medical divers onboard as well.
After the drivers meeting the particpants proceeded to make their way to Atlantic City where once there they could kick back, relax and enjoy some cold ones on "The Deck" at Trumps Marina. Before you knew it, it was time for the Awards Dinner held at Trumps Marina & Casino. A 5 course meal with all the trimmings and dessert you could die for.
While people settled in the Auction was started to raise money for the Shore Dreams For Kids event that the NJPPC plays a key part of every year in July. With NJPPC President Dave Patnaude playing out the Pimpin Auctioneer, the NJPPC was able to raise $12,700 for the Kids event. Thank you to all who help make that possible.
Once the awards were presented for the best hands, people slowly made their way to the "After Hours" festivities that Trumps Casino has to offer.
Saturday morning we all met for another Breakfast Buffet in the Harbor View room. This was new for us this year. We were never able to use this room because they only opened for lunch in years past.
It was a great view and a bright atmosphere over looking the Marina.
It was time to see our friends off that chose to head back on Saturday while the rest of us stayed for a Fun Run down to Margate for some lunch at Lumbertis. It was a fantastic trip down and back. After having a great meal there, we ended back at Trumps Marina to take in the sun and beverages either on the docks or back up on the deck.
As the day came to a close many of us (16) ended up having dinner together at the 2825 Restuarant. Great little Italian place I can highly recommend. The food was great and they were willing to put up with us.....
After finishing dinner at some time around 12:00am we made our way back to get some rest for the ride back in the morning,
Banged out another Buffet Breakfast and loaded the luggage onto the boats.
We were out the Atlantic City Inlet by 12:00 Noon for an incredible ride back to Barnegat Bay.
Our trip and mini getaway had finally come to and end.
We were all so blessed with 3 straight days of warm clear sunny days with minimal seas.
It just doesn't get any better than that!
Here are a few of the hundreds of photos I took throughout this entire Poker Run.
When I have the albums up online I will post it here.
Enjoy!
