Default Pine, Peanut, and Pork Festival @ Chippokes...

This coming weekend July 20-22nd......Chippokes Plantation shoreline is probably the largest gathering of boats on the lower James River during the whole year (and it's not even an organized poker run or OSO party). It's located directly across from Jametown Beach on the southern shore of what's officially called Cobham Bay on the chart.

Large raftups, boats of all kinds making the day trip or overnighting on the hook, and lots of great fun.

Oh and there's also a country style festival up on the shore at the plantation grounds with all kinds of food and music. Qoute from their website..."Three of Virginia’s primary products are celebrated during this two-day festival of arts, crafts, music and, of course, food, food and more food. More than 225 artisans display their wares. A wide assortment of native Virginia food vendors will be on-hand with menus that include world famous pork barbecue, fried pork rinds, grilled pork chops, sausage, ham biscuits, peanut pie, and peanut brittle. Bring your appetite and plan to stay all day"....

The HRPA will be running up river on the biggest day (Saturday) arriving between 11am-noon with some staying on the hook for both days. Looking for something to do and you're not too far away to trailer, come on down and join us for the raftup, and/or the festival.
