Dig this, kids! The Unofficial Sometimes-spokesperson of the Chicago Powerboat Club SPEAKS!
Coming straight outta the pulpit that is the bolster seat of one of the prophet Reggie's finest creations, with throttles and steering wheel in hands...it's your most Reverend LIMITER. After a few months of silence, the Reverend speaks with joy to those who receive this message of most excellent and effluvient information regarding the upcoming Chicago Poker Run! His message is as follows:
My fellow sun-and-speed worshipping denizens of the watery realms, I come to you this day in the spirit of the warmest and longest days of our year...the days which we yearn for each winter and cherish each time the sun graces us with her highest arc...SUMMERTIME.
It is with this ebulent feeling that I convey the following information regarding the pinnacle event on the calendar of Chicago powerboating, i.e. The Chicago Poker Run, which takes place July 18th and 19th at East Chicago Marina. This year will follow the celebrated tradition that has been established since the inception of our Club run three years ago: go boating and have a GREAT time, while raising money for Children's Memorial Hospital.
We now come to the crux of our sermon...the BIG PRIZE! This year, one lucky (and WINNING) boater will exchange a simple assorment of wax-papered cards for a ONE-YEAR LEASE at the prestigious ONE MARINA PLACE rackominium complex in Florida! In addition to a cash prize, this lucky personage and his/her family will enjoy such luxuries as a Travel Concierge, on-site certified Mercruiser mechanics, clubhouse priviledges and a "7 Star" elite powerboating lifestyle. HEY, be sure to sign up before June 15. The price goes up after that. Things are looking real good for the Chicago Poker Run on July 18 & 19, 2008.
