2011 Golden Eagle poker run June 11th Eufaula, Ok
Hope to see some of you guys there this year....Who's in, we will be in my 45 Sonic - Private Island 2 -.
Mark your calendar for the “FUNest” event on Lake Eufaula, the Golden Eagle Poker Run, Sat., June 11 at South Point Pavilion in Eufaula Cove. Lake Eufaula Association will host the annual fund raising event with over $40,000 in cash prizes based on 500 entries.
All card stops are on the water but you don’t have to have a boat to join the fun. Boats, cars and bikers are welcome to enter. The run course will include: No. 9 Marina, Evergreen Marina, Belle Starr Marina, Eufaula Cove Marina and the host site, South Point Pavilion, known to the locals as Peters Point.
Pre-entrants can pick up their packets and first card on Friday, June 10, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the LEA office, 701 S. Main, Eufaula.
“Entering by Friday, June 10, saves you $25,” said Emily Rodebush, member services director. “Entry forms are available at marinas, convenience stores, LEA office and online at VisitLakeEufaula.com.”All entrants receive a Golden Eagle Run shirt or hat and a one year honorary membership to Lake Eufaula Association.
The area band, “Blue Fish” will bring an entertainment aspect to the event this year. “We’re adding a free concert,” said Connie Morris, LEA executive director. “Everyone can enjoy live music while we’re getting all the entrants checked in to find out who wins. Blue Fish will start playing around 2 p.m.”
Food and beverage vendors will be set-up during the day so even if you don’t participate in the poker run, you can come out and join the party.
Pre-entry Fee (by June 10 at 8 p.m.) is $175 for five cards; $200 for six. Entry fee the day of the event is $200 for five cards; $225 for six.
First place pays $19,250; 2nd $9,625; 3rd $6,125; 4th $3,500; 5th $1,725. All payouts are based on 500 entries. There will be $100 Mystery Cards and the Hopper Hand Draw will payout $200 to five people that had bad luck turn good.

On my way
Heading to the lake, I think we are going to leave the houseboat in dock at Evergreen marina this weekend and let the girls watch the poker run and make it a guys day. When you dive by give us a honk or wave. We dock on the outside slip right next to the gas dock (red and white Horizon houseboat - Private Island -) After the run we will probably go out to the cut.

I told you guys you should show up.....Believe it or not I lucked out and finished first. We were the first two packets in....Started the run around 10 and finsished before noon. We got a $100 instant win card again this year and our hand was 4 Aces and with a Jack high. I thought we would get beat out but we didnt......We won first this year and took home 10K. The weather was perfect and the win helped too
