That area is beautiful for those considering going, you will be happy! We were up there camping a few weeks before the event last year. Stayed at the Petosky state park up the road a "bit".
Would love to have a boat worthy of the event to attend, maybe some year. I did just notice that the route is a little more protected not heading out to the islands this time, should be fun to enjoy the coast line more. I know our 5 children really enjoyed the area, very family friendly.
And you can't help but like the benefit they support. Being involved in helping children, I can attest to what a great cause it is helping BT support camp quality. Wow, Lake Michigan, the Traverse area, HP and a good cause, what else could you ask for?

Thank you for your support Brian. The Petoskey State Park has a awesome beach, our state park in town is a little more boater friendly and the water temps are a little warmer.

I know my parents camped at whiting park the last 2 years, and loved it. Nobody gave me any static about pulling in and throwing anchor with my fountain.
Absouloutley gourgeous area, I think we're going to spend the 2 weeks following boyne thunder boating the area.
Cant wait.

Young State Park is accross from Whitings Park, they have made a lot of improvements to Whitings, if you anchor on East end of park there is clay, anchor has a hard time holding. We always end up at State park for the sandy bottom, anchor sticks good!
