I felt it was important for people to understand the exact reason before any speculation and rumors started .

There are no problems between myself and the club.

I run a business , and I needed to make a business decision about my rates for shooting events.

I realized this was going to be a difficult decision for me because I knew of the risk of having to give up doing the event should the club decide to go into a different direction.
I fully respect their decision and also stand by mine.

I just could not justify my cost and continue without some sort of adjustment being made.

Steve had the phone call he wished he didn't have to make, but I assured him it was totally fine. I was kind of expecting it. My photography is a business and it needs to be profitable.

For the Club it is for a charity. People volunteer and are all doing it for the cause, which is awesome !

Last year I did a record number of events volunteering my services and/or discounting Charitable events for their causes. I did that from my heart as I did for the Buffalo Run for the last 5 years straight.

Unfortunately my costs have kept increasing over the years and it was just what I had to do.

I met a lot of great people and made great friendships in Buffalo. That will not change. I was blessed to have been able to capture their memories in the last 5 years that they can cherish for the rest of their lives as will I.

Steve and I will always remain friends. No doubt he knows how much effort went into what I was doing.

I want to thank the club and all of the volunteers for putting on a # 1 event.

I will also take this opportunity to thank Matt Trulio of SpeedontheWater.com for taking my word about this event and allowing me to introduce him to another side of boating in the North East that few people in other parts of the country knew existed. With his expertise skills as a writer, he knew just how to describe the event once he himself was able to experience it.

I am honored to have been part of the event and could not thank Anthony enough for reaching out and bringing me onboard so many years ago.

I hope to see many of you this season, but this time without a lens in my face...

Sorry to hear you're not coming and hope everything works out with you about the strike. This thread prompted me to look at the photos again and found some from last year I didn't see before. Even though there is a good "scum line" on the boat from sitting, you got some great shots and I just placed an order.
