HARTWELL LAKE POKER RUN JUNE 16-18th 2016
We have been working hard on the 6th annual Hartwell Lake Poker Run. Last year we had over 200 boats attending. This year will be even bigger. We are adding a Thursday night meet and greet dinner at The Galley restaurant located at Portman Marina. Friday will be the Fun Run with a stop at Clemson Marina for lunch and a long run from Clemson to the dam. Friday night we will return to Portman for some fun, food, and cocktails while listening to live music. Saturday is the Poker Run which will take us to five of eight card stops. Saturday afternoon/evening will be card turn in at Portman Marina at the Poker Run Party where we will enjoy live music and food while the winners are announced. Mark your calendars for June 16-18th. Looking forward to seeing everyone in June!!!!!

is the lake any different than lanier? we might be moving down to the area. was looking at lake house properties and seemed there was much more for sale on lake hartwell. water looked a little cleaner also? is there a reason more is for sale for cheaper on hartwell? whats the better performance boat lake? hartwell or lanier?

Lanier: " encompasses 38,000 acres (150 km2) or 59 square miles of water, and 692 miles (1,114 km) of shoreline "
Hartwell "comprises nearly 56,000 acres (230 kmē) of water with a shoreline of 962 miles" I would imagine more property actually exists on Hartwell due to much more shoreline.
Lanier has always had higher property values from what I've seen in the past. Possibly because of proximity to a larger city? They are both nice lakes. I don't think the water is cleaner at Hartwell. I have heard there are issues with eating fish out of it. Hartwell is much less crowded on weekends and many like that aspect. I actually like to see lots of boats and action on the water. Lanier is a very clear lake unless you see runoff in a feeder after a heavy rain. I would think Hartwell would be the same
