I am 50/50 at this point. COPS run is 8/14 and if all goes well, I may be a last minute guy for your run, if spots are still available. Sorry, but that's the best I can do for now.

I will really try. I don't know the river and rather follow the leader. Just re-bearing'd the rear diff in Ram so I'm good to go. Is Trout gonna be there?

Dave those guys have their own paradise up near Alma. They have permanent campsites right on the backwaters of the river (where the fun begins after the poker run) so they either launch right there or keep their boats in the slips at the campground.
Your best bet is to either drive up to this campground and launch OR if you came up the day before, maybe launch in LaCrosse or Trempealu (sp) and make a day trip running the river North up to their place.....well, I take that back, I guess since you might be a little rusty running the river, it would be best to drive up and launch at their campground. There is a nice launch and plenty of parking. Once you head out and run with the boys, you will get the feeling of the river back because she can be nasty if you don't treat her with respect

Dave, mark on your calendar MAY 6th 2005 to attend their annual Rat River run. Guys only, all day boating on a Friday regardless of the weather. Good friends, cold beer, campfire afterwords and a good way to start the boating season.

Dave, our annual family camping trip is that weekend 
.
It is about a 35-45 minute truck drive from LaCrosse to their place. Just follow 35 north along the river and they are just north of a town called Cochrane.
By boat~~ from LaCrosse to their place can be anyone's guess with the damn barges...probably only 55 river miles upstream but 4 locks to go through.

Just come to the Harbor Firday night and spend the night or early Saturday morning. It will be the best for a river rook. You will be with 50 other boats and we have a pace/flag boat that will keep everyone on course.
Trout is going to LOTO instead.

Dave. we would be more then happy to have you come on Friday night.
I am sure there will be a camp fire (we build them fairly humongous, and plenty of bench racing going on up at the bar.
I am going to try also to have the video tape from last years poker run going at the bar. Come on up, you wont be disappointed.
