SCOPE Poker Run Aug 27-29
Once again … we are setting new standards for fun and excitement! Recently rated in Powerboat Magazines “Top Ten Poker Runs” Our goal is to present a fun and safe time for all. We are very excited about our new location, the recently remodeled Coast Hotel. While we have changed locations, we have not changed the fun, excitement and cash payouts. Once you park, you will never have to leave the hotel other than the Poker Run, as all activities are in one area. The hotel has put together very favorable rates and we encourage all participants to stay there.
Rooms are available for booking by calling 562 435-7676. Dock space is limited but is available on a first entered, first served basis. For those without dock space, we have secured big rig parking at the ramp and the adjacent parking lot. Be sure to detail your rigs for the “Show & Shine”. We have arranged for water trucks and crews to assist you in washing your boats and flushing the engines after the run in your parking spot. Talk about service!
Friday is event commencement day!
Feel free to arrive at the hotel anytime throughout the day. Enjoy a day of boating or check out the other “Rigs” in the parking lot. The first “official” event will be the party at the tennis courts, Coast Long Beach Hotel. Entry to the party and food is included in the entry fee. If you can, make plans for this fun time.
Saturday is the MAIN EVENT!
The Long Beach Fire Department will lead the way to Queens Gate with water cannons blasting. If you never have participated, this is a spectacular site! Two courses will be provided, a long course (100 miles) to Avalon, Newport and Long Beach. The short course stays along the coast and is 50 miles. All boats sizes and speeds are welcome and have an equal chance of winning. Sorry, no personal watercraft. Lunch (In-N-Out Burgers) will be served on the grass area in front of the hotel where you can view the boats returning from the run, visit the vendors and sponsors of the Poker Run. The hotel pool overlooks the marina and will be a great place to cool off. Bring the kids.
Helicopters will be taking your boat in action during the event, and you will receive the negatives as part of your entry package.
Saturday evening, dinner will be served, music will play, and to cap off the night, the awards ceremony. Who’s walking away with the top prize this year?
First place is $10,000 with payouts to the top ten. Once again, all this is included in the entry fee.
Bob Teague of Teague Custom Marine returns as the title sponsor and can’t wait to see which engines will be on display in the hotel lobby.
We look forward to seeing everyone in August and making new friends!

I'll be there, but I think the only boat I'll be bringing will be a toy boat..
Are you going to jump in the water again this year??

Over 90 boats signed up as of today. Looks to be once again the Poker Run not to miss. Great parties, LOT'S of CASH, photos of your boats, boat washing, you name it we have it. $50 late fees apply after August 2nd. Get your entries in NOW!
