Johno is currently boatless. He probably would have rode with us if we went. Everything ok after the storm? You need to come over here to the river again soon.

Unfortunately we are boatless at present. That will change soon. I hope Frances does not destroy our weekend. The last thing Fl needs is another hurricane
See ya soon

Johno, what's on the horizon for a boat? I know it's gonna have weedwhackers cause you got so tired of spending so much time in your "personal clubhouse" aka the bilge.
Been spending some time there myself lately. Russ

Sorry poker runners. We have canceled the event due to unpredictable weather (HURRICANE FRANCES) and our concern for our members safety. Poker run entry fees (checks) will be torn up unless you direct us otherwise.

Hello OPBA Members,
The OPBA Board of Directors has made the decision to CANCEL the OPBA Long Labor Day Poker Run planned for this Labor Day Weekend because of Hurricane Frances. We can not predict the path of this dangerous hurricane at this time, and we are concerned about our member’s safety. We had over 65 poker run teams registered for this event, including 10 poker run teams from the Florida Powerboat Club and the leading manufacturer for poker run teams was Spectre Powerboats with 11 Spectre Catamarans. We had 12 new members sign-up for the event.
We WILL NOT deposit your checks, and we will refund all of your poker run entry fees. Basically we will tear your checks up. If you want us to mail your check back to you, please e-mail us. Again, if we don’t hear from you, we will tear them up on Friday.
Please call ALL of your boat buddies and make sure they know the poker run is canceled. We do not want people showing up with their crews and boats to a cancelled event.
The Sarasota Hyatt has canceled the OPBA block of rooms. If you would like to confirm or need a place to stay this weekend, please call the Sarasota Hyatt at 941-953-1234 ASAP.
Thank you to the OPBA Long Labor Day Poker Run Sponsors that stepped up, and we apologize for having to cancel the event that you so generously sponsored:
SUNCOAST POWERBOATS
THUNDER MARINE
DIVERSIFIED CONSTRUCTION CONTRACTORS, INC.
Problem Solver Realty
Spectre Powerboats
Ross Realty
Piper’s Marine
Force 10 Marine
Gulf Coast Underwriters
D & J Marine Construction
Please keep an eye on Hurricane Frances and take care of your family, friends, home, and boat (well of course, the boat). We want to “poker run” again in the future.
Thank you all for registering on time and wanting to participate in this exciting event.

Thanks for the E-Mail, take care of yourselfs.
