Re: RPBA & Baltimore/Red Eyes Trip
Dave is back with a BIGGER curcular saw.
FINALLY, success....It shouldn't take 8 hours and four people to get one lousy lugnut off. But, now plan B is out the window. By this time it is 6:00pm and we are hot and dirty. So, we shower and head out to get gas and go to our local watering hole (Gilligan's). When we get there, Bill opens one of the engine hatches to let the engines cool down (yea, right, we know he's just showing off!! ). So, we go to leave and he lowers the engine hatch. Something is not right and now it won't go back up. Lifts the other side and we manually pull up on the one with the problem....the actuator (sp?) is now dangling in the engine compartment. No pictures because it was dark and we were pissed. So, on the way back to the house that night we went by the local bar on the island and proceeded to get wasted!
At this point we are so discussed that we have taken two days off with the intent of spending a great time on the water with friends and NOTHING has gone right. It killed me everytime I had to cancel a reservation and think about what we were missing.
So, how do we spend our long weekend....doing yardwork!

Was hoping to at least catch up with you guys for the fun at Red Eyes, but a broken cam/cracked head left me having a different kind of fun........
Mid season breaks always suck. The rush causes you do do stupid stuff.......notice the $30,000 work bench.........
Maybe next year...........

Hang Time,
What are you doing????????????
If you are going to treat that car like that you really should just give it to me. SHEEESH, I mean what are you thinking????? Just let me know when I can rescue it from you.
Just kidding, well sort of. Hope you get back on the water soon.
Bill

Funny you mention a 2001. I just drove a friends 2001 Z06 (first C-5 I've driven) with only 7,500 miles on it. He just bought it and wanted my opinion. Previous owner had bumped it up a little: AFR heads, larger intake and throttle body, headers w/custom exhaust, 3.90 rear, 4 point roll bar, and I assume computer mods, for 430hp at the rear wheels! Car has run 11:08 in the quarter. Driving it?? -- What an animal!! The sound was beautiful. Had to find the traction control button and turn it off for fun, but I think there was still some kind of drivetrain management still on. Was nice driving a car hard that actually stopped as well as it goes!! Tony's Corvettes did the work, and will still honor GM's warranties!!...............................
