What's the best route to tow a boat from Roanoke to Bridgewater?

We took 581/220 down to 122. It looks like 581/220 to 116 to 122 is shorter, but I don't know what 116 is like for towing a boat.

116 takes you thru windy gap mtn,you can tow thru there but you go up a mtn for about 1 1/2 miles, it is alot shorter.

he should be alright, kind of curvy and narrow in spots but not bad, but is it wider than the average 2 lane road?
