It really amazes me how some people jump to conclusions without even knowing all the info. Hopefully with the results from the dyno, Fountain World Wide will be able to have the point penalty reversed. All I can say is WCM did their homework on the boat setup and seem to have it working really well. Since the team has not been caught cheating, how can some of you people assume they were just because they are winning? When P1 actually catches these guys cheating then start your *****ing.

As a journalist and one time participant in P1 as well as an interested observer who happens to know a lot of the teams personally, it seems that they broke the rules by not dynoing the engines before the race - it is quite irrelevant what the result is as all engines have to have a dyno sheet to race - end of story.

Perhaps people should first read something about powerboat P1 before they make statements.
As a start Powerboat P1 has nothing to do with UIM offshore rules but is part of pleasure navigation. So only rules chapter 309 are valid. With exception for the cockpit rules where the 508 group is used.

Fair enough.
P1 wanted to start the season with some new instrument in order to keep up the fair game.
So all teams had to send at least one engine to cosworth in the UK for a dynotest. Also each dynoed engine was sealed and each team had to fit a series of sensors.
During the races a data logging system is fitted to both engines. After the race that data logging data are than compared with the date from the dyno and if things are not the same = disqualification.
Next to that the rules are very clear : at least one dynoed engine has to be fitted in the boat during races !!!
Now fountain showed up in the pits late, not taking part of the superpole and test sessions ( = nr 1 infraction to the rules ( rule 309.S8)
Second Fountain decided themselves doing the race on saturday and sunday without a dynoed engine in the boat. This while having a perfectly sealed and dynoed engine on the truck. ( = nr 2 infraction to the rules, 309.T4d)
Apparently, this was the main reason for the protest of OSG-Kiton.
