BTW : all rules about powerboat P1 can be found at
www.uimpowerboating.com

and look for pleasure navigation.
The P1 rules are chapter 309 from this set of rules.

As a start Powerboat P1 has nothing to do with UIM offshore rules but is part of pleasure navigation. So only rules chapter 309 are valid. With exception for the cockpit rules where the 508 group is used.
I am well aware that P1 runs under Pleasure Navigation rules Max. The rules are (to me) unclear in this particular instance so I (perhaps mistakenly) have assumed that Offshore protest rules would apply.

BTW, if you are who I think you are, we met at the Brighton UK P1 race in 2004. I was one of the UKOBA organisers.

For next year the plans are to make a seperate league away from offshore and pleasure navigation. Because sometimes both offshore and pleaure navigation rules are contradictory.
For this year as I said, only the cockpit 508 rules from the offshore rulebook are use for P1.
Btw : I was not in brighton...

Question

So vipermax,

If I understand your post correctly, FOUNTAIN WORLDWIDE did not have any Data Logging Instruments from the P1 Powerboat organization working on their boat during both the races ?

What position was Kiton in when they lost their steering and spun out ?

Well you have to put it in an other way.
Since they choose volontary not to have their available dynoed engine fitted in the boat. It also made no sense to fit the data logger since there were no sensors available.

About kiton. I do not know exactly

Question

Is there only one baby blue racing boat in P1 which by the looks of it would be the Fountain Worldwide boat ?

vipermax, how do you know weather or not hey had enough time to get the sealed engine in the boat? If you really knew when the boat came off the ship from the US, you might realize you don't have a clue what you are talking about. when the boat arrived at the race site, it wasn't even ready to be raced. They still had the shrink wrap on the boat from being shipped from florida.
