I borrowed a friends GPS and put on 28 Bravo 1s' I could only get 4500rpms with the trim between 4-5 on the guage, speed was 71 and some change. I will be taking the 1" spacers off in the next week or so and will try the Bravos again... how high should I be in trim for optimal performance??? Boat felt like it ran faster with the Hydromotive 28's but was terrible to get on plane...I'll be GPSing the boat this coming weekend with the Hydros before I pull the spacers just to see what it was at! Cruising speed @ 3500 was 56-57 at between 3-4 on the trim with the Bravos.
Because this boat is new to me I Haven't been too aggressive with the trim, but I have put roughly 30 hours on it in the past few weeks, I feel comfortable now to try almost anything to get my setup right...but with 500HP's this thing should go 80 IMO......

The first thing you should do is index your drives and tabs. Use a straight edge and find and mark on your indicators where parallel to the hull is. On my 33' it is about 2 or 3 from what I remember. The hull responds well to trim, running at 6 or 7 is no problem.

Everyones boats are different, but my boat and three others I ride on and drive run faster in the 6-8 range on the trim depending on water conditions. The straight bottom needs the trim too get the hull freed up.The Hydros may still be faster unless the bravos are labbed, but the bravo is a better overall prop for that boat.
