Running with Brian and Jennifer Bowen in their ‘96 on Friday.

Stopping to visit John Stern on Friday. John Lewis’ ‘89 is up front, Brian Bowen’s ‘96 in the middle, and my ‘97.

Docked at Captain Ron’s.

Waiting to run.

Thanks, Ken! Yep, that was me. John Humphrey. Marc’s boat was just finished and he’s on the water. HP Mafia did the upgrade for him.

Hows the Cig?

Hey John, had a couple issues at the Cig event with the new engines but Myrick and I got it sorted.

700hp 580’s
SSM-IV’s
2” spacers
17-1/2” 31P 4-blade cleavers spinning out
I still need to fine-tune it.

How about you?

509s with unknown hp. Hits 87 most of the time, 88 with the right conditions, and got 89.2 (once) with some tweaked/repitched Mirage Plus 29s.

I’m now trying out regular Mirage 29s but just recovered from a bent exhaust valve and haven’t pushed it to the max yet. I also turned the timing back.

I found an old thread with Ed posting about Powerplays like the drives toe-out 1/4” (spinning out). Mine were 1/8” toe in and noticed an improvement when I adjusted it. Maybe check yours during the fine tuning if you haven’t already?

Keytime, where are your drives in relation to the bottom surface with the 2" spacers?

Honestly have not measured it. Been a busy summer for me. Planning on getting more into the nuts and bolts in the future. I'll check and let ya know.
